The site provides general educational information. It does not supply a property survey, installation approval, diagnosis, electrical safety assessment or calibration certificate. Use the current instructions for your exact instrument, materials and work. Where specialist judgement is needed, obtain advice from a suitably competent person.

Measurement and uncertainty

Instrument indications depend on the method, settings, material, environment and user technique. A detector’s non-response does not guarantee a safe drilling position. An electrical moisture indication does not by itself establish a leak, mould or a building defect. Example diagrams are schematics, not records of actual measurements.

We aim to explain sources accurately but information may become incomplete or out of date. We welcome corrections. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and do not remove applicable statutory rights.

Reusing materials

You may download and fill in the blank CSV templates for your own or your organisation’s projects. Keep the meaning of fields and units clear. The templates do not certify a result or set acceptance limits.

You may link to our pages and quote reasonable excerpts with attribution where permitted by law. Please contact the publisher before reproducing full articles or illustrations. Third-party source material remains subject to its owner’s terms; a link does not grant reproduction rights.
